Enrollment Policies

Dancer’s Edge practices equal enrollment. Eligibility not based on race, sex or religion (age requirements do apply).

Enrollment for classes is by contract only.

Contract Contents:

  • Student(s) being enrolled.
  • Form(s) of dance for each student.
  • Assumption of financial responsibility.
  • Policy agreement.

Contracts can only be signed by the person assuming financial responsibility

Change in enrollment can only be done by submitting a Dancer’s Edge Drop/Add Form (available in the studio office).

A registration fee of $15.00 per student is due at the time of registration.

Children under the age of 3, and persons out of high school, are accepted by approval only.

Adult enrollment is based on availability.

Enrollment is for regular classes only (not competition or summer classes).

Dancer’s Edge reserves the right to refuse or revoke enrollment at owner’s discretion without explanation.

Class placement will be determined by the instructors and is based on Dancer’s Edge criteria, not based on years of experience. Student placement is non-negotiable.

Doctor’s physicals are not required for enrollment, but it is the recommendation of Dancer’s Edge Studio that students be seen by a physician before starting dance classes.

One-on-One Class Policies and Rates

Students are welcomed and encouraged to take one-on-one classes with the instructor of their choice.

One-on-one classes are to be scheduled on an individual basis with the instructor for a time to be negotiated by the parties involved.

Parents will be required to sign a request form, for billing purposes. Accounts will be billed accordingly.

Rates:

  • 30 Minute Class: $32.00 / Class per student
  • 45 Minute Class: $34.00 / Class per student
  • 60 Minute Class: $35.00 / Class per student
  • 75 Minute Class: $38.00 / Class per student
  • 90 Minute Class: $40.00 / Class per student

Tuition charges will be billed on the 1st of each month.

Billing will be for September through May.

Statements will be sent by mail to each student/parent.

Monthly tuition is due in full on or before the 10th of each month.

On the 15th of each month a $10.00 late fee will be applied to accounts not paid in full.

Any charges to an account that are overdue 30 days or more will incur a finance charge, monthly, at a rate of 2% (24% APR) until account is brought up to date.

Monthly tuition charges will be based on Student Enrollment Contracts.

Student Enrollment Contracts are binding for the term of the agreement. Changes to monthly charges can only be done with a signed Drop/Add Form (available upon request).

Added Classes: Charges to accounts will be determined by the number of classes remaining in the month the class(es) are added. Tuition fees for added classes will be applied to student(s) account and due on or before the 10th of the next month.

Dropped Classes: Credits to accounts will be determined by the number of classes offered before the drop form is accepted. Credits will be applied to the next monthly bill.

A 10% tuition discount will be credited for the 2nd and 4th student in a family (for each student at full price, one student will earn the discount). Students earning the discount will be selected by the studio.

Students will be billed for costumes at two separate times during the year.

  • A Costume Deposit of $50.00 per costume will be billed in October.
  • A Remaining Costume Balance (the difference between the deposit and the actual cost of the costume) will be billed after costumes are ordered.

If a parent elects not to have a costume ordered for the student, it must be submitted in writing and received by November 1st.

Costume fees are non-negotiable, non-refundable; once costumes are ordered for a student they may not be returned or refunded.

Costumes must be paid in full before the students are allowed to take them home.

Student enrollment will be suspended and the student will not be permitted in classes if there is an overdue balance on their account of more than 60 days.

Accounts over 90 days late will be turned over to collections.

Account balances must be paid in full to be eligible to participate in the recital.

Overpayment/Credit on accounts will not be released until after registration the following year if the student/family elects not to return.

A $25.00 fee will be incurred on all returned checks.

Accounts with more than one returned church within a dance year will be required to pay by cash or credit card only.

All Account Policies will be strictly enforced.

Policies are not subject to negotiation.

We strive to keep student accounts up to date and accurate; however, mistakes are made at times.

Any Billing dispute can be discussed (by appointment) with the General Manager.

Any action or practices from previous years, regarding accounts and billing, are not subject to enforcement unless deemed necessary by the General Manager.

Recital Policies

Recital participation is not required.

For the safety of all participants, there will be no early dismissal for recital. NO EXCEPTIONS! If your student cant not stay for the entire recital (estimated length 4 hours, estimated end time 11:00PM) you need to notify the Studio Director (Brandy Revennaugh) by November 1st.

Parents WILL NOT be allowed to pick up students until after the final number. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Students will be required to remain backstage through the entire recital. Students will not be allowed to leave the backstage area for any reason until after the final number.

Parents will not be permitted in the backstage area during the show.

Caretakers will be provided for students backstage during performances.

Rehearsal is mandatory for those participating in the recital.

Each family will be issued one pass for each of the rehearsal nights. A pass is good for one person only.

Photography and video recordings are allowed during dress rehearsals only. No video recordings or flash photography will be allowed during the show.

General Policies

The studio phone is not for personal use.

Students may use the phone to call for a ride with permission from office staff.

Students are not to be loitering in or around the office.

Books, Dance bags, Backpacks, ETC…are to be stored in the show room, and are not to be left in the waiting area or brought into the classrooms.

Dancer’s Edge is not responsible for lost or stolen property.

Competition Team Policies

Selection to the competition team may be made through a try-out process.

The try-out will be held at a time and date to be scheduled by the studio, and will be posted in the studio for sign-ups.

Competition team try-outs are open to any/all Dancer’s Edge students enrolled at the time of the try-out.

Participation in previous years does not automatically entitle students to current team selection.

Judges for try-outs will include, but not be limited to, Dancer’s Edge instructors, and will be selected by the Studio Owner.

All decisions by the judges are final and are not subject to dispute or explanation.

Students to excel, or show exceptional potential may be invited to join competition team(s), at the discretion of the Studio Director, without being subject to try-outs.

Students who did not attend Summer Classes may be required to attend one-on-one classes to be caught up with other team members.

Competition practice schedule will be posted in the studio.

Competition class fees will be in addition to general class tuition, but will be applied to student accounts on a monthly basis.

Competition class fees are $15.00 per month, September through May.

Each competition dance will require a separate costume.

Competition costumes will be billed to student accounts.

Competition class attendance is required, and is subject to Dancer’s Edge Attendance Policies.

Competition enrollment requirements for competition team:

Students must be enrolled in, and attend, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and Technique classes for the duration of the dance year (Lyrical and Hip Hop classes are only required for those competing in those numbers).

Students must meet, and maintain, competition enrollment requirements in order to stay on competition team and be eligible to compete with the team.

All competition class fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and no credits will be issued for missed or canceled competition classes.

Change in competition class enrollment can only be done by submitting a Dancer’s Edge Drop/Add Form (available in the studio office).

Convention Policies

Student/Parents are responsible for all convention fees (i.e. entry fees, convention workshop fees, hotel and travel expenses, etc.)

Hotel reservations and travel arrangements are the responsibility of each student/parent and will not be billed by the studio or through student accounts.

Convention attendance (workshops and competition) is required for all competition team members.

The studio will automatically register all competition team members for convention workshops and competition entry.

Any student withdrawn form a convention will be removed from the team(s) and will not be allowed to return for the duration of the dance year.

All convention fees will be applied to the student’s account in the billing period (month) prior to the month of the convention.

Convention and Costume fees must be paid in full prior to departure for conventions. Failure to do so may result in dismissal from the competition team.

Convention dates are subject to change.

Convention and costume fees are subject to any and all Dancer’s Edge Account Policies.

Cancellations/Withdraw from convention(s) after charges have been applied to student accounts are non-refundable, non-transferable and no credit will be issued.

Convention fees are not subject to refund, exchange or studio credit for any reason if charges have been applied to students accounts regardless or student’s status.

All decisions regarding convention fees are the the discretion of the Accounts Manager.

If circumstances arise that are not address in this policy manual, Dancer’s Edge reserves the right to make any and all decisions related thereto, such decisions will be considered final.

All choreography taught at Dancer’s Edge is property of the Studio and its instructors. It is not to be used by students, or members, in any organized activities not affiliated with dancer’s Edge without the express consent of the owner.
